Bratwurst sausages with potato and sauerkraut salad

Indulge in flavorful Bratwurst sausages and a classic side salad.
Ingredients:
  • 600g small washed potatoes
  • 12 (about 550g) Bratwurst sausages
  • 60mls (1/4 cup) sour cream
  • 220g (1 cup) sauerkraut (Edgell brand), drained
  • 40.00 ml finely chopped green shallots
  • 5mm-thick slices rye bread (like Riga brand Bauernbrot or Schinkenbrot)
Instructions:
  • Heat up the grill or chargrill over medium heat.
  • Cut the potatoes into 2-3cm pieces and boil in a saucepan for 8-10 minutes until just tender. Drain and cool under cold water. Cook sausages on a grill for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until perfectly done.
  • In a large bowl, mix together potatoes, sour cream, sauerkraut, green shallots, salt, and pepper. Toast the rye bread. Serve the sausages with toasted rye bread and the potato and sauerkraut salad.
