Make easy, fluffy homemade deep-fried doughnuts with your bread machine.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup warm milk
  • 0.5 large egg, beaten
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 8 cups vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Add milk, egg, butter, flour, sugar, salt, and yeast to the bread machine following the order listed or as per your manufacturer's recommendation. Select the Dough cycle and start.
  • Once the machine completes the cycle, take out the dough, approximately after 90 minutes.
  • On a floured work surface, gently knead the dough a few times to remove all air bubbles. Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces, cover with a damp cloth, and allow to rest for 20 minutes.
  • Flatten each ball into a 1/4-inch-thick disk and use a small cutter to create a hole in the center of each one. Allow the doughnuts to rise on a floured surface until they double in size, about 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Preheat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the doughnuts in batches of 2 to 3 until they float to the top and turn golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
