Indulge in a rich cheese and beer soup with Frozen Broccoli Cuts for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pkg (9 oz each) Frozen Broccoli Cuts
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups cubed American cheese (8 oz)
  • 1/2 cup beer
  • Popcorn, if desired
Instructions:
  • Prepare the broccoli according to package instructions in a 2-quart saucepan.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of milk and flour until smooth. Pour this mixture over the broccoli in the saucepan. Add the remaining 2 1/2 cups of milk, along with garlic salt, dry mustard, and pepper. Stir well until the mixture is bubbly and thickened over medium heat.
  • Stir in cheese until melted and smooth, about 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour in beer and heat thoroughly, stirring constantly. Top with popcorn before serving.
