Transforming everyday ingredients into culinary delights. Unknown origin, untested.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 broccoli, cut into small pieces
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 10.00 gm butter
  • 1/2 onion, roughly chopped
  • 2-3 bacon rashers
  • 100ml thickened cream
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Ground cumin, to taste
  • Sour cream, to garnish
Instructions:
  • Place the fresh broccoli and potatoes in a large pot, pour enough water to cover them, and simmer with the lid on until tender.
  • While the main dish is cooking, melt some butter in a skillet and sauté the onion until translucent. Set aside and proceed to cook the bacon slices.
  • After cooking the broccoli and potatoes, remember to reserve the cooking water. Blend the cooked broccoli, potatoes, and fried onions together, adding a splash of water for a smoother consistency.
  • Stir in the cream and some of the reserved water until you reach your preferred consistency. Season to taste.
  • Return to the stove and gently reheat until warmed through.
  • Garnish with a dollop of sour cream and crispy bacon bits.
