Elegant shrimp appetizer with easy prep, stunning presentation, and delicious flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 16 slices (1/2 inch thick) baguette
  • 1 lb uncooked deveined peeled extra-large shrimp (16 to 20 shrimp), with tails left on
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley leaves
Instructions:
  • Whisk together Aioli ingredients in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Prepare a 18x13-inch rimmed baking pan by spraying it with cooking spray. Place the oven rack 4 inches away from the broiling element and set the oven to broil.
  • Melt butter in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat. Take off heat and mix in Worcestershire sauce, pepper flakes, and 3 cloves of chopped garlic. Brush both sides of baguette slices with around 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture. Arrange on a baking pan and broil for 3 to 4 minutes, flipping once, until golden brown. Transfer to a serving bowl or platter.
  • Place the shrimp in the baking pan and drizzle the remaining butter mixture over them. Gently toss the shrimp to ensure they are evenly coated. Broil the shrimp for 4 to 6 minutes until they turn pink and firm, then transfer them to a serving platter or bowl. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with bread and aioli.
