"Teriyaki glazed salmon fillets broiled to perfection for a simple and flavorful meal."
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 cups water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1.5 pounds salmon fillets
  • 1 medium green onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • In a small lidded bowl, shake together 1/4 cup cold water and cornstarch until fully dissolved. Set aside for later use.
  • In a saucepan, bring 1 cup water, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic to a boil over medium-high heat. Lower the heat to a simmer and stir in the cornstarch mixture. Let the sauce thicken for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Set aside 1/2 cup of teriyaki glaze.
  • Position the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the broiler to low. Line a baking sheet with foil, then place the salmon on it. Brush the salmon on all sides with teriyaki glaze.
  • Broil salmon for 12 minutes. Switch broiler to high heat. Brush on reserved glaze. Broil on high until salmon flakes easily with a fork, approximately 3 minutes. Serve with a garnish of green onion and sesame seeds.
