Savory ham, potatoes, and carrots create a delicious, well-balanced meal in one dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound cooked ham, cut into strips
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.66666668653488 cup evaporated milk
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 cup bite-size carrot pieces
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter until sizzling; add ham and sprinkle with brown sugar. Sauté ham until caramelized, approximately 5 minutes. Transfer ham to a plate using a slotted spoon, leaving the flavorful drippings in the skillet.
  • Combine cream of mushroom soup, evaporated milk, water, onion, salt, and pepper with the reserved drippings in the skillet. Add potato slices and carrot pieces. Cover the skillet, lower the heat to simmer, and cook until potatoes and carrots are tender, approximately 35 minutes. Add ham back to the skillet and cook until hot, about 10 minutes more.
