Spicy chicken drummettes ready to impress in just 50 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 2 quarts oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 packages (1 lb each) chicken drummettes
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup red pepper sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or 3-quart heavy saucepan to 375°F.
  • Combine flour, paprika, red pepper, and salt in a 1-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag. Add the chicken, seal the bag, and shake well until the chicken is evenly coated with the flour mixture.
  • Brown chicken in separate batches to ensure each piece is perfectly cooked and crispy, about 10 minutes per batch. Then, place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • In a 1-quart saucepan, melt butter with pepper sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder over medium-high heat for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until well blended.
  • In a large bowl, coat the chicken thoroughly with the butter mixture.
