Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 450°F. Melt butter in a 9x9x2-inch square pan in the oven.
  • In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour in the milk and stir gently with a fork until a soft dough forms, about 30 strokes.
  • Transfer the dough onto a generously floured surface. Gently roll the dough to ensure it's covered in flour. Knead approximately 10 times and then roll or pat it into an 8-inch square.
  • Cut the dough into 9 strips using a floured knife. Dip each strip into melted butter, ensuring both sides are coated. Arrange the strips closely together in the pan.
  • Bake until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes, then serve hot.
