Southern Buttermilk Custard Pie with Nutmeg Sprinkle.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, whip together butter and sugar until silky. Add flour, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla, then pour the filling into the pie shell. Finish by sprinkling the top with nutmeg.
  • Place in the hot oven for 60 minutes or until a beautiful golden brown color is achieved.
