Buttermilk custard pie in a deep dish - sweet and divine.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (9 inch) deep dish pie crust
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Cream together margarine and sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in flour and salt, then blend in the eggs. Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla until well combined. Pour the mixture into the pie shell.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at high temperature for 15 minutes, then lower temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and continue baking for 45 minutes, or until filling is firm.
