Elevate classic cabbage and noodles with sweet carrots and apples for a deliciously simple meal.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1 head cabbage, cored and shredded
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and shaved into strips using a vegetable peeler
  • 1 small cooking apple (such as a McIntosh) - peeled, cored, and shredded
  • 1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until sizzling. Stir in the cabbage, carrot, and apple, cooking until the cabbage is tender, which should take about 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add egg noodles, cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 5 minutes. Drain thoroughly.
  • Fold the noodles into the cabbage mixture with care, then season with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to enhance the flavor.
