Homemade whole wheat Canadian bacon pizza ready in an hour. Bon appétit!
Ingredients:
  • 1 package regular active or fast-acting dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (105°F to 115°F)
  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon whole-grain cornmeal
  • 1 can (8 oz) pizza sauce
  • 2 cups finely shredded Italian mozzarella and Parmesan cheese blend (8 oz)
  • 1 package (6 oz) sliced Canadian bacon, cut into fourths
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chopped (1/2 cup)
Instructions:
  • In a medium bowl, mix yeast with warm water until dissolved. Add in flour, 2 tablespoons of oil, and salt. Stir vigorously with a spoon for 20 strokes. Allow the dough to rest for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F and adjust the rack to the lowest position. Grease a cookie sheet with 1 tablespoon of oil and sprinkle with cornmeal. Using floured fingers, pat the dough into a 12x10-inch rectangle on the cookie sheet, ensuring to pinch the edges to form a 1/2-inch rim.
  • Spread a generous layer of delicious pizza sauce evenly over the crust. Sprinkle a generous amount of gooey cheese, crispy bacon, and colorful bell peppers over the sauce. Bake the pizza in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the edge of the crust turns a beautiful golden brown.
