Slow-cooked plank salmon with rich, smoky flavor. Soak plank overnight in chemical-free wood for best results.
Ingredients:
  • 24x8x1 inch untreated cedar plank
  • 6 (4 ounce) fillets salmon
  • 0.5 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 large red onion, chopped
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 0.5 tablespoon black peppercorns, crushed
Instructions:
  • Place the untreated cedar plank in water and let it soak for about 12 hours, or overnight.
  • Preheat the outdoor grill on high heat with the plank in place. Sprinkle the plank with coarse salt and heat for 2 to 3 minutes until dry. Adjust the grill to medium heat.
  • Massage salmon filets with fragrant olive oil to enhance their delicate flavor. Carefully place the salmon on the sturdy plank. Garnish the salmon generously with aromatic red onion, zesty lemon slices, and bold black peppercorns.
  • Cover and cook the salmon for 10 to 12 minutes, or until it turns opaque and can be easily flaked with a fork.
