Grilled halibut steaks on cedar plank with herb butter sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 untreated cedar plank
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons herbes de Provence
  • 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
  • 2 teaspoons dried tarragon
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 halibut steaks
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Soak the cedar plank in water for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Prepare the grill by heating it to medium-high heat and greasing the grate lightly with oil.
  • Combine the butter, lemon juice, herbes de Provence, dill, tarragon, paprika, and garlic in a small bowl, mixing well.
  • Lay the halibut steaks on the cedar plank, generously season with pepper, and drizzle half of the butter mixture over the top.
  • Place the cedar plank on the grill and cook with the lid closed for 20 minutes. Open the grill, baste the halibut with the remaining butter mixture, and continue grilling until the fish flakes easily with a fork, about 10 minutes more.
