Transform sweet potatoes with a decadent glaze of orange juice, brown sugar, and butter for a truly unforgettable holiday treat.
Ingredients:
  • 6 medium sweet potatoes
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 4 whole cloves, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, submerge sweet potatoes in salted water and bring to a gentle boil. Allow to simmer on medium-low heat until tender but still firm, for about 18 to 20 minutes. Drain the sweet potatoes, peel them, and slice in half lengthwise, discarding the skins.
  • In a large skillet or electric frying pan, caramelize brown sugar, butter, orange juice, salt, and cloves until syrupy. Add potato halves and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes. Optional: remove cloves before serving.
