Candy Apple Salad

Delicious salad inspired by fairground candy apples, loved by even apple skeptics. Hurry and savor before overindulging!
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups Granny Smith apple - peeled, cored and chopped
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, with juice
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped dry roasted peanuts
Instructions:
  • Combine egg, flour, sugar, vinegar, and pineapple in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until thickened, about 6 minutes. Let cool completely.
  • Combine the pineapple mixture and whipped topping in a large serving bowl. Gently stir in the apples and 1/2 cup of peanuts. Sprinkle the rest of the nuts on top.
