Elevate dates with chocolate, nuts, and coconut for a candy bar-inspired treat - Snickers, Milky Way, Almond Joy, Baby Ruth, and Twix flavors!
Ingredients:
  • For all candy bar dates
  • 1 pound (about 30) dates, such as Medjool
  • 8 ounces chopped semi-sweet or dark chocolate or 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt (optional)
  • For Snickers dates (for 1 pound dates)
  • 1/3 cup crunchy or smooth peanut butter
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped toasted peanuts
  • For Milky Way dates (for 1 pound dates)
  • 1/3 cup caramel sauce
  • For Baby Ruth dates (for 1 pound dates)
  • For Twix dates (for 1 pound dates)
  • 1 (2.47-ounce) package chocolate Pocky
  • For Almond Joy dates (for 1 pound dates)
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened, shredded coconut
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped toasted almonds
Instructions:
  • For the dates, gently remove the stems and carefully split open to remove the pits while keeping the date intact. If the date tears, don't worry, you can easily press it back together, but aim to keep it in one piece.
  • Prepare the filling: Ensure the natural nut butter is well combined. For Snickers dates : Fill the center with 1/2 teaspoon of crunchy or creamy peanut butter. For Milky Way dates: Fill the center with 1/2 teaspoon caramel sauce. For Baby Ruth dates: Fill the center with 1/2 teaspoon caramel sauce and a sprinkle of chopped peanuts. For Twix dates: Fill the center with 1/2 teaspoon caramel sauce. Insert 1 or 2 broken Pocky sticks into the caramel. For Almond Joy dates: Fill the center with shredded sweetened coconut and chopped almonds.
  • Gently mold the stuffed date back into its original shape, taking advantage of its natural stickiness to easily seal it.
  • Melt the chocolate in increments, stir, and coat the dates: Line a sheet pan with parchment or wax paper. Microwave chocolate in 30-second intervals until melted, stirring each time, or melt by placing the bowl over simmering water. Dip each date in the chocolate, shake gently to remove excess, then place on the lined pan. Repeat with remaining dates, leaving space between each.
  • Enhance the flavors: While the dates are still moist, generously sprinkle the Snickers and Baby Ruth dates with chopped peanuts, the Almond Joy dates with chopped almonds and shredded coconut, and all the candy bar dates with flaky salt for added crunch and a touch of saltiness.
  • Refrigerate: Place the dates in the fridge until the chocolate hardens, at least 30 minutes. Enjoy fresh or store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze the candy bar dates for up to 2 months and thaw in the fridge or on the counter before eating. If you enjoyed the recipe, please rate it below!
