Candy Bar Surprise Sugar Cookie Bars

Indulgent surprise: Candy bar hidden inside sugar cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 2 pouches (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 bag (10 to 12 oz) fun-size candy bars, unwrapped
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to a toasty 350°F and generously spray a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine 1 pouch of cookie mix, 1/2 cup of melted butter, and 1 egg in a medium bowl, stirring until a soft dough forms. Press the dough into the bottom of the pan.
  • Arrange candy bars decoratively on top of the dough, or chop the candy bars and evenly sprinkle over the dough.
  • Combine the second pouch of cookie mix with the remaining 1/2 cup of butter and egg. Spoon the dough over the candy bars. Press gently with your hands to cover the candy completely and ensure an even top layer.
  • Bake until beautifully golden, about 25 minutes. Allow to cool perfectly on a rack before cutting into 6 by 4 rows.
