Indulgent chocolate chip oatmeal cookie bars.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (9 oz)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  • 5 bars (2.07 oz each) Snickers™ candy bars, chopped (about 2 cups)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to cream together the brown sugar and butter until smooth. Mix in the vanilla and egg. Gradually add oats, flour, baking soda, and salt on low speed until combined. Set aside 3/4 cup of the mixture for the topping. Press the rest of the mixture into the bottom of a 13x9-inch pan without greasing it.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, gently heat the chocolate chips and condensed milk over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until the chips have melted and the mixture is smooth. Pour the velvety mixture over the crust.
  • Evenly scatter the chopped candy bars over the chocolate mixture, then crumble the reserved oat mixture over the candy.
  • Bake for 32 to 37 minutes until golden brown and set. Allow to cool on a rack for at least 2 hours. Cut into 6 rows by 6 rows to make bars.
