Total Time:
Delicious baked apples with warm caramel, perfect for cozy days.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1.5 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1.25 cups butter, melted
  • 2 cups apples - peeled, cored and sliced
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1.5 cups caramel ice cream topping
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 15x10 inch jellyroll pan.
  • In a big bowl, mix flour, quick cooking oats, brown sugar, and baking soda together. Add melted butter and stir until crumbly. Press half of the mixture into the baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven for 8 minutes to make the crust.
  • Combine caramel topping and remaining 1/2 cup flour in a small pan over medium heat. Stir constantly, bring to a boil, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes to create the caramel filling.
  • Arrange the apple slices on the baked crust, sprinkle with nuts, pour caramel filling over the apples, and sprinkle the remaining crust mixture on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown, then cool before cutting into bars.
