Caramel apple tart with oat crust, topped with streusel and served warm with ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
  • 1.3333333730698 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 0.66666668653488 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.75 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup cold butter, cut up
  • 5 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 (12.25 ounce) jar SMUCKER'S® Caramel Flavored Topping, divided
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • Vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg. Use a pastry blender or two knives to cut in the butter until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Set aside 1 3/4 cups of the crumb mixture and press the rest onto the bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Place the sliced apples over the partially baked crust. Combine sweetened condensed milk with 1/2 cup caramel topping until well mixed, then pour the mixture evenly over the apples. Combine walnuts with the reserved crumb mixture, and sprinkle it over the apple layer.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are tender. Let it cool in the pan on a wire rack. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with the rest of the caramel topping.
