Whip up a quick and delicious caramel banana trifle in just 30 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 380g can caramel Top'n'Fill
  • 600ml thickened cream
  • 24.00 gm icing sugar mixture
  • 4.40 gm vanilla essence
  • 225g rectangular unfilled sponge cake (see note 1)
  • 40.00 ml coffee liqueur (optional, see note 2)
  • 3 large bananas, thinly sliced
  • 82.50 ml dry-roasted hazelnuts, chopped (see hint)
Instructions:
  • Combine caramel and 1/4 cup cream in a bowl and whisk until smooth. In a separate bowl, beat sugar, vanilla, and the remaining cream with an electric mixer for 3 minutes until soft peaks form.
  • Cut the cake into 3cm pieces. Layer half of the cake pieces at the base of an 8-cup capacity bowl. Drizzle half of the liqueur (if using) over the cake. Spoon half of the caramel mixture over the cake. Add half of the banana slices and half of the cream mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, liqueur, caramel mixture, banana, and cream mixture, ending with the cream mixture. Finish by sprinkling with nuts and serve.
