Indulge in a scrumptious caramel apple crisp made with Gold Medal® flour.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup caramel topping
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 large baking apples (about 2 3/4 lb), peeled, cut into 1/2-inch slices (about 6 cups)
  • 2/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter or margarine, cut into small pieces
  • 2/3 cup quick-cooking oats
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Combine the caramel topping and cinnamon in a large bowl until well mixed. Add the apples and toss until thoroughly coated. Transfer the mixture to a greased 8-inch square (2-quart) glass baking dish.
  • Combine 2/3 cup of flour and brown sugar in a bowl. Add butter and blend it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in oats, and sprinkle the crumble over the apples in the baking dish.
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown. Serve with whipped cream and extra caramel topping if desired.
