Spiced chai tea latte shortbread cookies.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons loose-leaf tea, or more to taste
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Pulverize tea into a fine powder using a spice grinder, then blend in cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and pepper.
  • Cream together butter, sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer until creamy. Mix in spiced tea thoroughly. Gradually fold in flour 1/2 cup at a time to form a stiff dough.
  • Place the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out until it is 1/4-inch thick. Use a cookie cutter or knife to cut the dough into 2-inch pieces, then arrange the cookies on baking sheets.
  • Bake in the oven until edges are lightly browned, approximately 20 minutes.
