Upgrade your veggie dip with a rich and gooey cheese fondue.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
  • 6 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (1 1/2 lb)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper sauce
  • Assorted vegetables (bell pepper strips, broccoli flowerets, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms), if desired
Instructions:
  • In a heavy 3-quart saucepan, gently melt butter over low heat. Add flour and cook for 3 minutes, stirring consistently. Pour in the broth and bring to a boil. Boil and stir for 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture is thick and silky.
  • Lower the heat and gradually stir in 1 cup of cheese at a time until it's melted and the mixture is smooth. Add the pepper sauce and transfer the cheese mixture to a fondue pot to keep it warm over low heat.
  • Skewer vegetables onto fondue forks and elegantly dip and swirl them in the fondue.
