Cake pops with a moist cake center, coated in Cheerios® cereal for a playful twist!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 cup mashed very ripe bananas (2 medium)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 bags (14 oz each) yellow candy melts
  • 60 paper lollipop sticks
  • 3 1/2 cup Chocolate Cheerios™ cereal
  • 3 1/2 cup Peanut Butter Cheerios™ cereal
  • Block of white plastic craft foam
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease a nonstick cake pop baking pan with baking spray that includes flour.
  • In a large bowl, mix cake mix, bananas, oil, water, and eggs with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth. Fill each well in the bottom half of the pan with 1 level measuring tablespoon of cake batter. Place the top half of the pan on top and secure with clips. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake balls to cool for 5 minutes in the pan before removing and cooling completely on a wire rack. Repeat with the remaining cake batter, remembering to clean and spray the pan before each use. (Cover and refrigerate any remaining batter.)
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat 1 bag of candy melts uncovered on Medium (50%) for 1 minute, then in 15-second intervals until melted. Stir until smooth. Trim edges of baked cake balls before dipping. Dip the tip of each lollipop stick about 1/2 inch into the melted candy and insert into cake pop to cover. Tap off any excess. If the candy is too thick, reheat in the microwave. Decorate immediately with cereal and place in plastic foam to harden. Repeat with remaining cake pops and candy melts.
