Impress guests this Christmas with a festive tree-shaped cheese and bacon dip adorned with mini Arnott's Chicken Crimpy Shapes. Perfect holiday appetizer!
Ingredients:
  • 400g middle bacon rashers, trimmed
  • 9.20 gm extra virgin olive oil
  • 1kg cream cheese, softened
  • 10.00 gm smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 250.00 ml grated tasty cheese
  • 125.00 ml grated parmesan
  • 62.50 ml finely chopped fresh chives
  • 100g box (8 packets) mini Chicken Crimpys
  • Maple syrup, to drizzle
  • Extra chopped fresh chives, to serve
Instructions:
  • Cut a star shape from the bacon using a 6cm star cutter. Finely chop the rest of the bacon. Heat oil in a medium frying pan over medium heat. Cook the bacon star for 2 to 3 minutes, turning until golden. Set aside. Cook the chopped bacon for 5 minutes until browned, stirring occasionally. Let it cool, then refrigerate the bacon star and 1/4 of the chopped bacon until needed.
  • With an electric mixer, blend cream cheese with paprika, onion and garlic powders until creamy. Add salt and pepper for seasoning. Mix in grated cheeses, chives, and the rest of the bacon until fully combined. Chill in the fridge for 1 to 2 hours until firm to shape.
  • Lay a large piece of plastic wrap on a flat surface. Transfer cheese mixture onto the plastic. Use the plastic wrap and your hands to shape the mixture into a tree (make the base about 15cm in diameter). Place the tree on a serving platter.
  • Press chicken crackers into the cheesy mixture. Place a bacon star on top. Lightly drizzle with maple syrup, then sprinkle with the reserved chopped bacon and extra chives. Serve and enjoy!
