Cheesy Bacon Pull-Apart Biscuits

Indulge in savory bacon and cheese biscuits made with Original Bisquick® mix.
Ingredients:
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 4 1/2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 6 medium green onions, chopped (6 tablespoons)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (6 oz)
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (3 oz)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Cook bacon in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet until crisp. Drain on paper towels, crumble, and set aside. Keep 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings in the skillet, coating the bottom and sides, and discard any excess drippings.
  • Combine Bisquick mix, milk, 1/4 cup onions, garlic powder, and red pepper in a large bowl until a soft dough forms. Pat the dough to 1-inch thickness on a surface dusted with Bisquick mix, then cut out rounds using a 2 1/2-inch cutter. Place the rounds in a skillet and evenly sprinkle 3/4 cup of Cheddar cheese between them.
  • Bake until lightly browned, then top with mozzarella cheese and remaining 3/4 cup Cheddar cheese. Bake a few minutes more until cheese is melted. Finish with bacon and remaining 2 tablespoons onions before serving warm.
