Indulge in savory pork and bacon stuffed rolls oozing with gooey cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 200g shortcut bacon, chopped
  • 500g pork mince
  • 200g (1 cup) tomato pasta sauce
  • 6 white bread rolls, in one piece
  • 80g soft butter
  • 40.00 ml chopped parsley
  • 250g (2 cups) grated melt or pizza cheese mixture
  • 30g (1 cup) baby spinach leaves, shredded
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan-forced and line a large baking tray with baking paper. In a large deep frying pan over medium-high heat, cook the bacon for 5 minutes, stirring often, until it's crisp and golden brown. Transfer the bacon to a plate using a slotted spoon.
  • Place pork mince in a pan over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes, breaking up lumps with a wooden spoon until lightly browned. Stir in pasta sauce until well combined. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • With a large bread knife, carefully halve the connected bread rolls horizontally and lift off the top. Using a small serrated knife, gently score the tops of each roll without fully cutting through. Mix together the butter, garlic, and parsley, then spread this mixture into the scored cuts.
  • Place the base of the rolls on the tray and sprinkle with half of the cheese. Add the pork mixture, bacon, and spinach on top. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and carefully place the top of the rolls. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the rolls are lightly browned.
