Decadent Brussels sprouts casserole with crispy breadcrumbs - a gourmet twist on a classic dish, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 carton (32 oz) Progresso™ vegetable broth
  • 2 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed, quartered
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (6 oz)
  • 1/2 cup Progresso™ plain panko crispy bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and generously coat a 13x9-inch (3-quart) baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Bring the broth to a boil in a 5-quart Dutch oven. Add Brussels sprouts and bring it back to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes. Then, transfer the sprouts to a baking dish using a slotted spoon and reserve 1 1/2 cups of broth.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup of butter. Add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly with a whisk. Pour in 1 1/2 cups of broth and whipping cream, bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Take off the heat and mix in Swiss cheese until fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Drizzle the sauce on top of the Brussels sprouts.
  • Combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and melted butter in a small bowl. Toss together until well coated. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the sauce. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and edges are bubbling.
