Elevate your sandwiches with the rich, sophisticated taste of Gruyere cheese!
Ingredients:
  • 1 unsliced multigrain bread loaf
  • 80g butter, softened
  • 125g gruyere or tasty cheese, thinly sliced (see note)
  • 180g sliced corned beef
  • 82.50 gm tomato chutney
  • 10g baby spinach leaves
Instructions:
  • Slice the bread loaf into eight 2cm-thick slices. Spread butter on one side of each slice. Place 4 slices, buttered side down, on a board.
  • Cover each slice of bread with a generous layer of cheese, corned beef, 1 tablespoon of tomato chutney, and spinach. Season with salt and pepper. Place the remaining bread on top, buttered side facing up.
  • Preheat a large, heavy-based frying pan over low heat. Put 2 sandwiches in the pan and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the bases are golden. Gently flip the sandwiches over, cover the pan to melt the cheese, and cook for another 3 minutes until the bases are golden. Transfer the sandwiches to a plate and continue with the remaining sandwiches. Cut them in half and serve.
