Caramelized onion and sharp Cheddar cheese pan-fried burgers on brioche buns.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef (80 percent lean)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 3 rolls brioche, split and toasted
Instructions:
  • Combine ground beef with a savory blend of Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and form into 3 equal-sized balls. Let rest.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter until sizzling. Sauté onions until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer onions out of the skillet. Shape 3 ground beef balls into patties in the same skillet, pressing with a cast iron press or heavy spatula. Distribute sautéed onions evenly over each patty and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Flip the patties to shift the onions to the bottom, press with a cast iron press or heavy spatula, place a slice of cheese on each patty, and cook until the cheese is melted, and the burgers reach the desired doneness, about 3 to 4 minutes. Serve on brioche buns.
