Flaky cheese crust perfect for savory quiches.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • 0.25 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 5 teaspoons cold water
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine flour and chopped butter, rubbing the mixture together until it resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in grated cheese. Gradually sprinkle water over the mixture, stirring lightly with a fork until the dough forms a ball and cleanly leaves the sides of the bowl. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough and gently place it in a 9-inch pie or quiche pan. Use a fork to create small holes on the pastry's bottom.
  • Pre-bake the crust in a preheated oven for 10 minutes, then fill with your favorite quiche custard.
