Irresistible baked pasta shells filled with meat, spinach, and cheesy goodness that kids adore - a family favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells
  • 0.5 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach - thawed, drained and squeezed dry
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 0.5 lemon, juiced
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cups spaghetti sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • 1. Bring a generously salted pot of water to a vigorous boil, then add the pasta shells. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes until they are pleasantly firm when bitten (al dente); drain and refresh under cold running water.
  • In a large, deep skillet, brown the sausage over medium-high heat until cooked through. Drain and crumble. In a large bowl, mix the sausage with spinach, ricotta cheese, egg, garlic, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and oregano.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Fill pasta shells with the indulgent combination of sausage and cheese, and arrange them in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Finish by generously topping with spaghetti sauce and gooey mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake until the pasta is heated through and the cheese is melted, approximately 20 minutes in a preheated oven.
