Elevate classic caramel apples with cherry, almond, and chocolate decadence.
Ingredients:
  • 6 Granny Smith apples
  • 6 wooden sticks
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1.5 cups dried cherries
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
Instructions:
  • Skewer the apples with wooden sticks, leaving the stem end exposed. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with lightly greased foil. Microwave the chocolate chips in a bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth and melted. Set aside.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with water until smooth, stirring frequently. Add vanilla. Dip apples in caramel, then swipe them against the pan's edge to remove extra caramel. Scrap off excess caramel from the apple bottoms with the saucepan's side.
  • Coat apples with cherries and almonds. Arrange on aluminum foil. Drizzle chocolate over apples using a spoon. Thin chocolate with vegetable oil if needed. Chill before serving.
