Ingredients:
  • cooking spray (such as Pam®)
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 (21 ounce) cans cherry pie filling
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 0.5 cup cold unsalted butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Gently mix in 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract into each can of pie filling for a delightful nutty flavor enhancement.
  • Empty both cans of pie filling into the baking dish. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over the top of the pie filling, then grate cold butter over the top to distribute it evenly.
  • Bake until topping is golden brown, around 50 to 60 minutes in the preheated oven.
