Indulgent cherry shortcakes infused with rich chocolate chunks and drizzled with decadent chocolate syrup.
Ingredients:
  • 4 cups halved pitted dark sweet cherries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon kirsch
  • 2 1/3 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chunks
  • 1 1/2 cups Cool Whip frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate-flavor syrup
Instructions:
  • Combine fresh, ripe cherries with a generous amount of sugar and kirsch in a bowl. Allow the flavors to meld together deliciously for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine Bisquick mix, 3 tablespoons of sugar, buttermilk, and butter in a medium bowl until a soft dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips. Drop 12 mounds of dough (about 3 tablespoons each) onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until deliciously golden brown. Transfer from the cookie sheet to a cooling rack and let cool for 30 minutes.
  • Blend whipped topping and chocolate syrup in a small bowl. Split shortcakes and fill with cherry mixture and whipped topping mixture before serving.
