Indulgent devil's food cake layered with cherry pie filling and decadent chocolate icing for an irresistible and rich dessert!
Ingredients:
  • 1 package devil's food cake mix
  • 1 (12 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.33333334326744 cup milk
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 6 ounces chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), allowing it to reach the perfect temperature for your dish. Next, generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish to ensure easy release and a beautifully baked result.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer on low speed to blend the cake mix, cherry pie filling, eggs, and oil until just combined, approximately 30 seconds. Increase speed to medium and continue beating until a light and fluffy batter is achieved, around 2 minutes. Transfer the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 26 to 30 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Combine sugar, milk, and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat until smooth and thickened, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat, add chocolate chips, and stir until melted. Allow to cool and thicken to icing consistency for about 20 minutes.
  • Using a fork, gently poke holes on top of the cake. Pour the chocolate icing over the cake, letting it cascade down the sides.
