Enhance chocolate cherry scones with Yoplait® strawberry lowfat yogurt for added flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup firm butter or margarine
  • 1 cup Yoplait® strawberry lowfat yogurt (from 2 lb container)
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries
  • 1/4 cup semisweet miniature chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F and generously coat a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Use a pastry blender to cut in the butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Gently mix in yogurt, cherries, and chocolate chips; the dough will have a slightly crumbly texture.
  • Place dough on a lightly floured surface and shape it into a ball. Gently knead the dough 10 times. Divide the dough in half. On a cookie sheet, pat each half into a 6-inch circle. Use a sharp knife to cut each circle into 6 wedges without separating them.
  • Bake until golden brown, then transfer to a rack. Carefully separate wedges and let cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm.
