Indulgent lactation cookies loaded with oatmeal, brewer's yeast, flax, and walnuts for new moms. Chewy, chocolaty goodness in every bite.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup flaxseed meal
  • 0.33333334326744 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup brewers' yeast
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Cream together sugar, butter, and shortening in a bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Incorporate water, egg, and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly. Combine flour, flaxseed meal, cocoa powder, yeast, salt, and baking soda, ensuring all ingredients are well blended. Gently fold in oats, chocolate chips, and walnuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Spoon rounded teaspoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes until the edges are golden. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
