Indulge in nostalgia with these classic chewy peanut butter cookies made with Bisquick™. Whip up 48 soft cookies with pantry staples, perfect for sharing or freezing. This timeless recipe dates back to a 1950 Bisquick™ ad as the thrifty Betty Crocker™ “1-2-3 Cooky” at just 5 ½ cents per dozen.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine peanut butter and milk in a large bowl until smooth. Mix in Bisquick and vanilla until well blended.
  • Roll the dough into 1 1/4-inch balls, then coat the tops with sugar. Place the balls, sugar sides up, on an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Flatten in a crisscross pattern using a fork dipped in additional sugar.
  • Bake for 7 to 9 minutes until centers are set and bottoms are lightly golden. Avoid overbaking. Transfer from baking sheet to cooling rack and let cool for 15 minutes.
