Tender gai lan with ginger, hoisin, garlic, and sesame sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 1 bunch Gai Lan (Chinese broccoli), trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a large pot of lightly salted water. Add Chinese broccoli and cook uncovered until just tender, around 4 minutes. Drain and transfer to a shallow bowl.
  • Combine hoisin sauce, sugar, soy sauce, cornstarch, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens and becomes clear, about 5 to 7 minutes. Pour over broccoli, toss to coat, and enjoy!
