Create delicious date-filled cookie bars for a perfect tea-time treat.
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 450g pkts chocolate-chip cookie dough
  • 250g pitted dates, coarsely chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Line a 16 x 25cm slice pan with non-stick baking paper, leaving the edges hanging over. Roll out half of the dough between two sheets of non-stick baking paper to create a 16 x 25cm rectangle. Repeat the same process with the remaining dough.
  • Spoon the dough into the lined pan and press down firmly to form the base.
  • Sprinkle the dates on top of the biscuit base. Add the rest of the dough on top and press down firmly to cover the filling. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes. Afterward, cover with foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the slice is fully cooked. Allow it to cool in the pan before cutting into squares to serve.
