Irresistible French toast filled with gooey peanut butter and decadent chocolate chips for a delicious breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients:
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.75 cup peanut butter
  • 6 slices day-old bread
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons unsalted butter, or more as needed
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Combine eggs, milk, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl, whisk well, and set aside.
  • Cover each slice of bread generously with creamy peanut butter. Sprinkle chocolate chips on 3 of the peanut buttered slices. Close each sandwich with another slice of bread.
  • 1. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt a generous amount of butter. 2. Dip each side of 1 sandwich in the egg mixture, then place in the skillet. Cook until beautifully golden on each side, approximately 3 minutes per side. 3. Repeat with the remaining sandwiches, adding more butter to the skillet as necessary.
  • Slice the sandwiches diagonally to create 6 halves, then drizzle with chocolate syrup and serve promptly.
