Indulge in a decadent chocolate pecan pie topped with fluffy whipped cream for a delightful dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 5 oz unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, toasted*
  • 1 crust from 1 package (12 oz) frozen Pillsbury™ Deep Dish Pie Crusts (2 Count)
  • Whipped cream, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a small saucepan, gently melt butter and chocolate over low heat, while stirring continuously. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to whip together sugar, vanilla, and eggs on high speed for 5 minutes. Gradually blend in the chocolate mixture on low speed, making sure to scrape the sides of the bowl. Gently mix in the flour just until fully incorporated, remembering to scrape the bowl. Fold in the walnuts and then spread the batter into the frozen pie crust.
  • Bake for 37 to 42 minutes or until a toothpick inserted halfway between the center and edge of the pan comes out almost clean. Allow it to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 2 hours. Cut into wedges and serve with whipped cream, if desired.
