Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Decadent brownies recipe handed down from my aunt for irresistible, indulgent treats.
Ingredients:
  • 14 ounces caramels
  • 0.5 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
  • 0.33333334326744 cup evaporated milk
  • 0.75 cup butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Unwrap caramels and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Add 1/2 cup evaporated milk and microwave until smooth, stirring occasionally.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, melted butter, and chopped pecans in a large mixing bowl. Spread half of the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake until golden brown, approximately 8 minutes.
  • Chill the leftover batter. Sprinkle chocolate chips on baked brownies, then drizzle caramel sauce on top. Scoop out chilled batter with a teaspoon, shape flat balls, and gently cover the caramel layer with them.
  • Continue baking for another 20 minutes until golden brown, then allow to cool.
