Chocolate Chocolate Chip Nut Muffins

Decadent double chocolate muffins with surprise walnut filling and crunchy almond topping!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup chopped walnuts
  • 0.33300000429153 cup whole almonds
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a cozy 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prep your muffin pan with a light greasing or paper liners.
  • Combine sifted flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. In a separate large bowl, mix together milk, egg, oil, and vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the large bowl and mix until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts until evenly distributed.
  • Fill each muffin cup with batter to the 3/4 mark. Insert almonds on top of the unbaked muffins and finish by sprinkling sugar over them.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 20-25 minutes.
