Egg and butter-free chocolate crazy cake - deliciously simple!
Ingredients:
  • 300g (2 cups) plain flour
  • 215g (1 cup) caster sugar
  • 30g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder
  • 6.00 gm baking powder
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) light tasting olive oil
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • Milk chocolate frosting, to serve
  • Assorted chocolate toppings, to serve (see notes)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C/160C fan forced. Grease a square 20cm cake pan with butter and line it with parchment paper.
  • Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and baking powder in a bowl, whisk until well mixed. Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Pour in oil, vinegar, and 330ml (1 1/3 cups) water. Whisk slowly until a smooth batter forms. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 17 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Smooth the luscious chocolate frosting over the cake and sprinkle with an array of tempting chocolate toppings.
