Decadent chocolate oatmeal brownies, a beloved family tradition.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 0.66666668653488 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1.25 cups chocolate chips, divided
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg until just combined, then fold in oats and 1 cup of chocolate chips. Pour the batter into a 9x12-inch baking pan and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips on top.
  • Place the dish in the oven until the surface is dry and the edges begin to separate from the pan, approximately 40 minutes.
